Which RRinaBox layout system is right for you?
If you already own trains, the answer is easy:

If you have O or S scale or On30 trains we steer you directly to the MTH 500 Series.

If you fancy HO, N, or Z scale, then your choice will be the 300 Series.

Other considerations as to which layout system is right for you are:  the size of your layout space, the size of your budget, and whether you want a seasonal or permanent layout.  Track plans are plentiful in all series so you can choose an exciting layout within your budget.  RRinaBox is the easiest most economical way to build a layout so more of your money can be spent on track, trains, buildings and other accessories.

The unique and remarkable feature of the RRinaBox layout systems is that the most difficult aspects of building a layout have been pre-determined for you specifically the daunting prospect of having a train change levels has been eliminated by pre-engineered grades.  Likewise, we take the intimidation of wood benchwork and replace it with easy to assemble foam engineered ribs.

Regardless of your skill level, RRinaBox is easy to build and uses household tools for construction—NO POWER TOOLS NEEDED.  Of course, all series contain enjoyment, family bonding, excitement and “pride in a job well done”.

These track plans were developed with Kato USA, using their Unitrack system. Other track brands can be used --talk to a RRinaBox consultant for the necessary modifications. The 200 Series is our newest product designed for N & Z scale. As it is our smallest layout design, it is ideal for someone who is "space challenged"-- perfect for an apartment or resting on a coffee table. The 200 Kato Series best exemplifies the meaning of RRinaBox very portable and easily taken down and stored in a closet. The dimensions and lightweight even meet Amtrak's carry-on requirements, so this layout really moves!

The 200 Series makes layouts that are 2'0' x 3'4' (A & B) and 2'0" x 5'0" (A, B & C modules) and can be used with HO narrow gauge.

Instructional DVD and handbook are included.

Even though this is our smallest layout, it provides just as much excitement as it has two mountains and tunnels, three bridges and runs two trains.

This is a joint project  between RRinaBox and MTH/RAILKING ELECTRIC TRAINS,

to encourage the beginner to embark on a first layout.  Track plans are designed for MTH RealTrax, with designations on the patterns to show where specific track is to be placed.  Other track brands can be used with modifications--talk to a RRinaBox personal layout consultant (e-mail & phone # listed below).  O scale trains with O-31 standard curves work very well with the 500 Series.  This series is suitable for S scale and On-30.   Below are products available in this scale:

MTH O/S Scale A&B.  The basic modular set of A & B make a 4’0”x5’4” layout.  This is ideal for small apartments and seasonal/holiday use.  For easy storage, the modules nest to create a RRinaBox that is 32”x40”x24”.   Drawings include two tunnel portals, two girder bridges, a truss bridge, retaining walls, viaduct, and city/townscape area with streets, curbs and sidewalks.  Water areas with waterfall and river bed are included.

2. MTH O/S Scales C.  This C module is an ingenious method for expanding your layout on its way  becoming an empire.  By using multiple C modules you can make your layout  as long as you like.  One C module inserted between the A&B modules make a layout 4’0”x8’0”.  Foamcore construction makes bolting easy, and can de disassembled for storage/transport. The addition of one C module adds 2 bridges, longer trains, additional town and scenery space (a RR yard enhances any layout), and a dock to your layout.

4.  HO, N, Z scale Expansion D, E & F.  These expansion modules allow you to grow your layout’s width (10” per module) by adding to the “front” of your layout--it grows to 4’10” x 8’.  The D, E & F modules provide unlimited possibilities for your layout configuration & visual excitement as you can add more sidings, trains yards or other scenes.  In addition, the D, E & F modules can form a shelf layout connected to the main layout.  This is easily accomplished because the geometry of the D & F profiles mate perfectly with the existing profiles in two directions.  Track extends from the main layout to the self layout.

5.  HO, N, Z Scale Expansion G, H & I.  These expansion modules are the same size as the D, E & F modules and are added to the “back” of the layout.  The siding to the mountain with the mine can be extended as well as the cove (waterfalls).  These expansion modules can also form a shelf layout connected to the main layout because the G & I profiles mate perfectly with existing profiles in two directions.  Track easily extends from the main layout to the shelf layout.
